2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Powertrain
There won’t be any sort of changes under the bonnet. The forthcoming 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will keep its current engine lineup. That includes two engine options. A 5.3-liter V8 remain standard and it delivers 355 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, a 6.2-liter V8 is optional and produces 420 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque. Logically, Chevrolet will continue to compete with Ford and Ram. Two manufacturers are already offering light-duty hybrid pickup trucks.
Chevy will also introduce its Silverado 1500 Hybrid model. Exact specs are not available yet. However, Chevrolet will pair 4.3-liter V6 gasoline with two electric motors and the battery pack. Silverado 1500 Hybrid will surely generate around 300 horses and over 300 lb-ft of twist. On top of that, Chevy promises over 30 mpg combined.
New Silverado 1500 will also offer a diesel option. A 3.0-liter Duramax engine is now very certain to happen. Thanks to that, new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will offer literally everything. Duramax diesel arrives with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet now waits for the fuel economy certification, before releasing full engine specs. According to rumors, this engine will return 280 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. 28 mpg on the highway sounds promising and diesel engine can tow around 7,900 pounds.
Price and Release Date
Chevy’s newest pickup truck will arrive in the coming weeks. The current model starts at $31,000. However, new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 could cost around $33,000.
The most expensive trim level starts at $60,000. There will be eight trim levels and numerous cab configurations. Chevrolet is producing its new pickup in Indiana and Michigan.
