The upcoming 2020 Ford Atlas will hit the dealerships in the next few months. This model will probably arrive as a special edition of the F-150 pickup. And while the F-150 looks modern, Atlas pickup will bring back the old days. Old school design is a classic throwback to one of Ford’s most famous design languages.
New bodywork will combine that old school styling with modern design. The 2020 Atlas will look astonishing as a result. Interior will be also new and very upscale. We can expect a couple of cool novelties such as body panels and new seats. Performances will also be great, but don’t expect new powertrain options.
2020 Ford Atlas Exterior Structuring
New Atlas is based on the concept from six years ago. However, the new model will depart from that concept in so many ways. This pickup will arrive as a special edition of the F-150 model. The 2020 Ford Atlas will look sharp and upscale. Blue Oval manufacturer will introduce new horizontal lines and new features.
The appearance looks old school and it is a refreshing model for the segment. Front part comes with a similar look as the F-150 pickup. Grille, bumpers, and headlights are very similar. To the sides, 22-inch wheels are available as standard. The new pickup will offer a couple of unique colors and probably new appearance packages. The design looks aggressive and shiny. Plenty of aluminum and chrome trims are all over the vehicle. On top of that, Atlas offers MultiPro tailgate as standard.
Interior Looks Unique
Ford’s latest model will look very modern from the inside. The 2020 Ford Atlas borrows plenty of stuff from the regular F-150 model. That includes power adjustable front seats, steering wheel, and leather upholstery. However, seats are looking unique. Cabin layout is almost the same. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available as standard.
Blue Oval will introduce a luxury package as an option. This package will add premium features and a panoramic sunroof. As for the safety, Atlas comes with a five-star crash rating. Features such as 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, and parking sensors are all standard.
2020 Ford Atlas Engine Options and Fuel Consumption
The forthcoming 2020 Ford Atlas will deliver the same engine lineup as the current F-150 pickup. That includes numerous powertrain choices. A 5.0-liter V8 is rated at 400 HP. A 3.3-liter V6 will be standard engine option surely. It is producing 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine provides 22 mpg combined. We don’t expect such a good fuel economy figures with the Atlas model.
The hybrid powertrain is another possibility. A 2.7-liter turbocharged engine is producing 325 horses and 400 lb-ft of twist. However, this engine is just a rumor for now. On top of that, the diesel engine is another rumor. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel generates 250 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission comes as standard. Also, the front-wheel-drive setup is standard too.
Price and Release Date
The brand-new 2020 Ford Atlas will cost $45,000. It will arrive as the special edition of the F-150 model. Thanks to the numerous optional packages the price could reach $60,000. Blue Oval’s newest pickup truck will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
