The mid-size pickup truck segment will be stronger for the upcoming 2020 GMC Canyon. This pickup will continue with the production and it will arrive with numerous changes. The manufacturer promised better fuel efficiency, performances, and greater comfort. Canyon will offer three engine choices and diesel powertrain is also in the offer.
We don’t expect any significant changes to the arriving model. New exterior colors, appearance packages, and better tow rating are expected. On top of that, new optional features will appear as well. Next to that, Canyon AT4 model will be available once again.
2020 GMC Canyon Design and Dimensions
The all-new 2020 GMC Canyon will arrive with the same design. Its dimensions and shape will largely remain. However, Canyon will introduce a couple of new improvements. This pickup comes with a similar look as the larger GMC Sierra model. Numerous styling cues are similar or the same. The same design language is easy to spot at first glance.
The front fascia will wear the same grille and headlights. Rectangular wheel arches are present once again and rear will get a standard corner step feature. Both Crew Cab and Extended Cab body styles are in the offer. Crew Cab models are available with a 5.2-foot long bed. Whatsoever, it is the longest bed in the mid-size segment. Numerous appearance packages are optional and we recommend a gorgeous Nightfall Package. For the end, locking tailgate system will be optional on 2020 Canyon.
Cabin Features
New 2020 GMC Canyon will once again offer a very practical, modern and comfortable cabin. The interior will get a couple of minor updates. For the start, the infotainment system will get an update. On top of that, GMC will offer new optional safety systems. Generous interior room is perhaps the best thing about the Canyon’s interior.
Moreover, ample legroom and comfortable seats will provide a nice feeling once you step inside the cabin. Leather seats are optional and it comes with numerous contrast stitching. The base trim level still offers the same cloth upholstery and a standard 8-inch touchscreen. Just like in the previous years, you can expect Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and similar features to be offered as standard.

Once again, Canyon pickup will offer three engine options. Among them, two gasoline and a single diesel unit are unchanged for next year. The 2020 GMC Canyon offers a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 200 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, a 3.6-liter V6 represents a reliable choice.
This proven powertrain produces 310 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of twist. On top of that, optional V6 comes with a new Active Tow system. This should additionally improve the tow rating. As for the diesel engine, a 2.8-liter comes with 180 horses and 370 lb-ft of torque. Turbodiesel engine can tow up to 7,750 pounds.
