Recently, GM teases an all-new pickup truck called 2021 Chevrolet S10. At first glance, this pickup looks almost the same as the Colorado model.
Generally, from what we heard, the upcoming S10 could ride on the same GMT 31XX platform as TrailBlazer. If you didn’t know, the same architecture underpins the North American-market, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Besides, from many gossips, Chevrolet S10 might use some of Chevy Colorado engines and mechanics. According to Chevy, we can expect this model to debut later this year.
2021 Chevrolet S10 Design
GM released only one image of the upcoming 2021 Chevrolet S10 pickup. The teased image does not promise at all. We can barely see what is going on on the front. The same design language is wearing the Colorado model. However, we can see that the front end is revised with the brand-new grille that looks prominent.
Like on Colorado pickup, a horizontal bar is connected with LED headlights, giving a very sporty appearance. The grill on the middle host huge CHEVROLET lettering with dark accents. Interestingly, the Bowtie logo is now placed on the right side of the grille.
There is no available image of the cabin right now. However, many believe that this model will be an improved version of the famous Colorado truck. However, we think that it will deliver minor refreshments to keeps its own styling. From some gossips, the forthcoming 2021 Chevrolet S10 will be stylish and more modern. Basically, it will host a couple of exciting modifications that Colorado doesn’t have. Most likely, it will feature a long list of standard and optional amenities.
As we mentioned, probably most of the cues could be taken from the Colorado pickup truck. Generally, Colorado has been blended with techs. The base model comes with a 7-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, two USB ports, vinyl seat and floor covering, locking tailgate, and cargo-box lighting.
2021 Chevrolet S10 Powertrain Specs
The new 2021 Chevrolet S10 is the pickup truck that rides on the same GMT 31XX platform as the TrailBlazer SUV. The approaching model from what we heard will surely borrow some of Colorado engines. As you might know, the latest Colorado pickup is available with three powertrain versions.
The base model is using a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that provides 200 horsepower. This model comes with rear-drive (RWD) and it uses either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. The next engine that will probably power S10 powertrain consists of a 3.6-liter V6 powertrain and 8-speed automatic transmission. This mill is reliable and is capable of producing 310 horsepower. Lastly, the manufacturer might use a 2.8-liter turbodiesel inline-4 that makes 180 horsepower.
Price and Release Date
GM teases forthcoming 2021 Chevrolet S10 and we cannot wait to see its full body. From the latest information, the new truck might be released in the third quarter of 2020. According to GM, the S10 will be firstly available in Brazil and shortly after in other countries. Unfortunately, the price of the S10 is still a mystery.
