The new 2021 Chevy Montana is confirmed and is coming to the market next year. If you didn’t know, this model was very trendy. The first generation released back in 2003 and lasted until 2010. The second-gen model debuted last year in Mexico, under the name Tornado.
However, from the information that we got, new-generation Montana will reach the United States soil. The upcoming pickup is rendered and we got a couple of photos. Firstly, Montana looks refreshed and is wearing an attractive body design. The manufacturer didn’t provide further details, but we managed to collect some information about its interior and engine.
2021 Chevy Montana Updates
The upcoming 2021 Chevrolet Montana at first glance is looking attractive. This model will be available in two-door and four-door configurations. According to rumors, it will sit on the whole new platform and it won’t share anything from Tornado pickup. Montana will ride on the unibody GEM structure. The renderings are available and Montana front fascia wears a recognizable design. The same attractive lines you can find on Blazer and Trailblazer models.
The grille looks trendy and is separated into two sections. The new shape of LED headlamps is present and they sit horizontally. On top of that, the hood is modern and Chevy includes two-tone 17-inch wheels. At the back, we can see that the manufacturer used a brand-new LED taillights and body-colored bumper.
Interior Appearance and Techs
There is still missing some details at the moment about the interior. However, the new 2021 Chevrolet Montana will look stylish and spacious inside. From what we heard, this model will definitively borrow a lot of things from other Chevy models. With that, we meant, it will use plenty of cues from famous Colorado. Generally, we can expect ample interior room, with great legroom and headroom.
Different cab setups will be in the offer according to the manufacturer. Basically, expect a model with five seating or six capacity, depending on the chosen configuration. In terms of techs, expect a 7-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, two USB ports, vinyl seat and floor covering, locking tailgate, and cargo-box lighting.
2021 Chevy Montana Powertrain Specs
From what we heard, the new 2021 Chevy Montana will use some of exists engines. It will most likely borrow the engine from Chevy Cruze. If that happens, Montana will come with 1.4-liter gasoline that can produce up to 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. This model will use a six-speed automatic transmission as standard. However, from plenty of speculations, Montana might also use a six-speed manual gearbox optionally.
There are many possibilities right now, but Chevy is refusing to say anything in this department. Of curse, the diesel variant possibilities are high and we can expect it in the South America market.
Price and Release Date
The next-gen 2021 Chevrolet Montana looks refreshed and it will wear famous Chevy design language. It also sits on a reliable unibody platform that is also underpinning the Chevy Cruze model. Besides, the price will be very affordable.
This model costs only $20,000 and it hosts plenty of standard equipment. The closest rival to this model is definitively the new Mitsubishi L200. Ford will also deliver its latest model in Brazil and Central America. In Mexico, you can already get the previous-generation Montana that is known as the “Tornado” model.
