In April this year, many rumors come out that the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup is coming. According to a very reliable source, the new sub-Ranger pickup could share its powertrain options with the Bronco Sport model that is revealed recently. Besides that, both models will use plenty of the same elements.
Generally, we got some on the renderings and Ford Bronco Sport Pickup is looking exactly the same as the SUV. Of course, the pickup truck version will get a huge bed and a few additional features that will separate it from the firstly showed.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Design
The rumored 2021 Ford Bronco Sport pickup truck is rendered. From the first available images, we can see an almost identical design engine as an SUV. From what we heard, the pickup truck would most probably share the same Ford’s C2 platform with the upcoming Maverick pickup.
The front of the 2021 Bronco Sport pickup strongly resembles the SUV model. The renderings reveal that pickup is wearing the same contrast-color roof and roof-mounted rack as the SUV. Also, it sports black grille with “Bronco” painted in white and painted black wheels. However, compared to the SUV model, a pickup truck is dimensionally bigger and it sits higher. Also, it comes with a huge bed that deploys BRONCO lettering on the tailgate.
Interior Rumors
Like the SUV. model, the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport pickup truck will provide many amenities. Basically, we don’t expect to see anything new compared to the SUV. model. From plenty of gossips, this model will use the same layout and technology. We think that it will be able to accommodate five occupants with much better headroom and legroom than the SUV. model.
The interior should be simple, clean, and easy-to-reach physical buttons and knobs. Like on SUV. model, the same package of advanced safety features can be expected. This model as standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and pedestrian detection.
Moreover, optionally, one can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which includes adaptive cruise control and more equipment. Generally, we are also assuming that the new pickup truck will be available with the 8-inch touchscreen Sync3 system as standard.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Under the Hood
The same engines would most probably power the all-new Ford Bronco Sport Pickup truck as Bronco Sport SUV. That means we are going to see two engine variants.
If you didn’t know, the Bronco Sport uses a 1.5-liter three-cylinder and 2.0-liter four-banger turbo engine. Both powertrains are a carryover from the Escape model. The first engine is capable of producing 181 hp and 190 lb-ft, while the 2.0-liter delivers 245 hp and 275 lb-ft). Both engines will use the same eight-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date and Price
There is no official statement that this pickup truck is coming. From what we heard, if that happens, the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup truck might be introduced sometime in the first quarter of 2021. However, looking at the pricing of the SUV. model that starts a little less than 27k, the pickup truck will probably cost a couple of thousand more.
