The all-new 2021 GMC Sierra will arrive with a redesign. Furthermore, the fifth-gen GMC Sierra will introduce numerous changes and upgrades. According to the latest news from motor1.com, the new model could get a significant interior update alongside the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado. However, as you may know, the Ram model offers one of the best-looking cabins in this segment.
However, the GMC Sierra is a very modern pickup truck that comes with an attractive design and excellent powertrains. Like before, the manufacturer will use the same four engine variants on the new model. Furthermore, one of them powers high-performance Denali pickup model.
2021 GMC Sierra Design Changes and Updates
The 2021 GMC Sierra will be redesigned, and it will represent fifth-generation. Visually, the truck will get minimal updates outside and most of the changes will happen inside this truck. So, the shape and dimensions will stay intact for sure.
However, the manufacturer will keep the same design, and it will add a new power tailgate. Also, as before, the 2021 Sierra will continue to ride on the same GM T1 platform. However, this time, it will lose some weight and according to some news, aerodynamics will be improved.
Interior update is coming, and we can expect better materials and tech inside. This news is spreading around and from what we heard, the manufacturer will introduce serious changes to stay competitive on the market. However, we think that the main reason for that is to rival and beat one of the most equipped models on the market, Ram 1500.
So, we can expect better comfort, and the most significant changes will happen in the technology department. The 2021 GMC Sierra will offer the latest infotainment system and more features this time. Sierra pickup truck will be provided in six different trim levels, and we can expect for certain new touchscreen unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and more quality and safety features on upper trim levels.
2021 GMC Sierra Powertrain
The upcoming 2021 GMC Sierra, as we already wrote, will continue to provide the same engine options. So, under the hood, everything will be the same as before. 4.3-liter V6 remains to be a standard engine choice. This V6 powertrain makes 285 horses and 305 lb-ft of torque. Also, it comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
5.3-liter V8 is the first option. Thanks to this engine output will be a 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Depending on the packages, this version will be available with 6-speed or 8-speed automatic gearboxes. The manufacturer will also use a smaller turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of twists.
The 2021 GMC Sierra Denali will be once more available. This iconic off-roader will differ in so many things from a standard one. It will look stronger and stylish. Also, under the hood, this version is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 that can burst 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel-drive setup is standard on this model as on others.
