The approaching 2021 Honda Ridgeline is ready for additional upgrades. This pickup truck is one of the most reliable models in its segment. It looks attractive, it’s safe and performance is excellent. Ridgeline is also a practical pickup truck and the credit goes to numerous trim levels.
On top of the range, Black Edition trim level offers nothing but luxury. If you want better performance, Honda got you covered with the Type-R edition. For 2021, Ridgeline will remain a unibody pickup. Honda also offers independent suspension, smooth ride, and optional AWD.
Exterior and Interior Changes
Ridgeline pickup is very similar to the Honda Pilot SUV. Whatsoever, it rides on the same platform as its SUV sibling. The 2021 Honda Ridgeline will get a couple of visual upgrades. As a result, the pickup will now look even more attractive. Fog lights will be restyled and front fascia looks squared-off. Headlights are new and front grille will soon host more chrome accents. A new two-way tailgate system is also in the offer and it provides easier cargo management.
From the inside, 2021 Ridgeline will get a couple of modern and elegant upgrades. The interior is also similar to the interior of the Pilot model. That includes an identical layout, shapes, and upholstery. The backlighting system is new and it provides perfect feel during the night ride. This pickup will continue to offer a room for up to five passengers. The infotainment system will get all the important updates. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are still standard. The safety rating is perfect but we don’t expect further improvements in this category.
Honda Ridgeline Black Edition
Ridgeline pickup offers up to six different trim levels. The range-topping 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition trim level is very premium and luxurious. It is an RTL-E trim with blacked-out features. Everything you see is finished in black color. That includes black wheels, headliners, side mirrors, bumpers and much more. On top of that, red accents are looking beautiful on the Black Edition variant.
We especially like the red contrast stitching from the inside. Black Edition trim offers a standard AWD system and plenty of standard features. The newest Honda Sensing suite is available, along with the premium sound system and extra safety aids.
2021 Honda Ridgeline Engine Specs and Hybrid Rumors
Under the hood, the Ridgeline model is set for another smooth sail with its 3.6-liter V6. This output is good for 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. The upcoming 2021 Honda Ridgeline will continue to deploy a standard FWD system. Trim levels such as RTL-E and Black Edition are offering a standard AWD setup. A 9-speed automatic transmission is available and it provides a smooth ride. As for fuel efficiency, Ridgeline should get some improvements.
As a matter of fact, the pickup is rated at 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. A lot of customers are unhappy with these numbers , so the answer could be a hybrid model. Ridgeline Hybrid is still a rumor, but it makes perfect sense. On the other hand, a hybrid variant shouldn’t arrive before 2022.
