The next-gen 2021 Isuzu D-Max has been revealed, and according to images, the upcoming model will come with revamped exterior styling and an all-new dashboard layout. However, this is just the beginning of restyling because we will also see some changes under the hood of this model.
The manufacturer will add a new 3.0-liter diesel engine that is also available under the Isuzu MU-X SUV. However, this engine will be only available in Thailand according to the news. Besides that, this pickup truck will be also offered with two diesel powertrains that include the 1.9-liter unit and a 2.5-liter engine.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Spy Shots
The all-new 2021 Isuzu D-Max is caught testing these days in different locations. Captioned images reveal that this pickup will get a couple of visual upgrades that will include full LED headlight and somehow different front grille.
Despite the heavy camouflage, the new model will get minor updates according to the images. However, the design of this pickup remains to be strong and unique. Dimensionally, this pickup will continue to be the same as before. However, thanks to the platform that is also used on the MU-X model, the new one will come with reduced overall weight. The rear end will also be redesigned. And it will look more angular than before with the same single exhaust system
Interior Updates
As before, the cabin of the 2021 Isuzu D-Max will look very upscale. The new pickup provides a basic interior with an all-new dashboard layout. Whatsoever, the manufacturer will offer this model in two-bed configurations. The extended cab version is the first one. This model features extra storage behind the seat. However, the next one is a double cab. This one will use a standard four-door layout with a rear bench seat and room for five occupants.
On top of that, D-Max will keep its unique design inside. Also, plenty of features will be available as well. The list of standard features is long, and it will not include once more Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine Specs, Rumors
Under the hood, the forthcoming mid-size pickup truck will get one new diesel engine alongside the old ones. The 2021 Isuzu D-Max pickup truck will offer a new 3.0-liter diesel engine that will make 180 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. This version will be only available in Thailand.
However, the U.S. market will deploy two diesel variants. The first one is a 2.4-liter diesel engine and the next one is a smaller 1,9 turbo diesel. All engines above will be available only with a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, according to the latest gossip, the manufacturer will improve fuel consumption on all models by 10%.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Price and Release Date
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max pickup will introduce significant changes. The new pickup will arrive with a redesigned exterior, cabin and it will even introduce a new engine. Furthermore, the price of this model will start at $34,000. However, choosing a higher level, the price may rise price to $50,000. The mid-size pickup truck will be released next fall as the 2021 model.
