The new generation, 2021 Mazda BT50, will try to conquer markets next year with some refreshments. According to some rendering photos, the new model may borrow some cues from the popular Mazda CX-5 model.

Besides that, the next-gen pickup will offer a stronger look, techy interior, and more safety. Thanks to that, BT50 is ready to continue its rivalship with the Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, and VW Amarok models. Further updates will include some changes in the engine department and a couple of exterior modifications.

2021 Mazda BT50 Design

The design of the 2021 Mazda BT50 will be refreshed, and it will be completely different than before. According to the latest report, the new pickup truck will use the same Kodo design language that is also present on many cars from this manufacturer.

Most of the styling cues are shared with the Isuzu D-Max pickup and Mazda CX-5 SUV. Appearance changes will include new Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint, blacked-out grille, door handles, mirror caps, sports bar, and side steps. With the standard package, the Mazda BT50 offers 16-inch wheels. However, as a part of upper trims, customers can get a blacked-out 17-inch, eight-spoke units.

Comfortable and Modern Interior

The 2021 Mazda BT50 will be more techy and roomy inside. Also, this pickup will be available with numerous trim levels. As before, Mazda BT50 comes with two rows of seats and offers rooms for five occupants. According to some speculations, the newest pickup truck may get the same styling as the popular CX-5 model. So, we can expect a more stylish cabin.

Tech-wise, Mazda will add more features this time. Some of the standard features that are part of this pickup are a 7.8-inch touchscreen, a new eight-speaker audio system, black leather seats, a central-locking tailgate, a tub liner, power mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, and privacy glass.

2021 Mazda BT50 Diesel and Gasoline Engines

The upcoming 2021 Mazda BT50 will be available with a few engine options. The manufacturer will use the same 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel powertrain that generates 200 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.

Furthermore, the next one that is new is a gasoline engine. If the reports are accurate, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder SkyActiv powertrain will power this variant. Furthermore, this engine will be able to crank 185 horses and 285 lb-ft of twist.

The third one and the last engine will be the same engine that powers the Isuzu D-Max model. Under the bonnet of this model is a 3.0-liter that produces 180 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. However, there is not yet the info on what numbers will perform this engine under Mazda BT50. The front-wheel-drive system is offered as standard, and all powertrains will send power through the new 6-speed automatic transmission.

Release Date, Price, and Rivals

The upcoming 2021 Mazda BT50 will introduce some refreshments for the following year. As before, this pickup will continue to be affordable.

As stated by some sites, the new model will start at $29,000. There will be numerous trim levels, and upper trims will easily reach $40,000. Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, and VW Amarok are models that will compete with BT50.
