Besides the Nightshade Edition that is recently revealed, the Japanese automaker introduced a new lineup of Trail Edition models. The upcoming 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is among them and it looks better than ever. If you didn’t know, this edition is based on the SR5 Double Cab trim. According to Toyota, sales will be limited to only 7,000 units. Basically, Trail Edition is for those who are seeking more off-roading and outdoor adventures.

It comes with a more rugged look, better suspensions, and it rides on a proven architecture. Moreover, Toyota will provide numerous exterior upgrades and more equipment. Like the regular model, under the hood of Trail Edition can be found the existing V6 engine.

Just like the Nightshade Edition, the upcoming 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition pickup truck will look attractive and stylish. This pickup will feature plenty of blacked-out parts. Moreover, Toyota 4Runner and Tundra Trail models will also get the same treatments.

Firstly, Tacoma Trail is wearing a black grille and attractive LED headlights. The side profile is also beautiful and includes standard Dark Gray 18-inch TRD off-road wheels with Kevlar all-terrain tires. Also, Trail Edition offers a great color palette that includes Super White, Midnight Black, Cement, and Army Green.

Interior Features

The new 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition offers an excellent cabin. Like the Nightshade model, the Trail Editon will also include many black accents. Stepping into this pickup, we firstly noticed a black seat with tan stitching and all-weather floor liners.

However, all of the features that are available on the SR5 Double Cab trim level will be included in the Trail Edition model. So, expect the same 8-inch touchscreen, along with the new air vents and more standard equipment.

Proven V6 Gasoline Powers This Pickup

The all-new 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is the pickup truck that will feature a reliable powertrain. Like the many Toyota models, the Trial Edition will use the very potent 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. The same engine is also present on the regular model as Nightshade edition. This proven V6 engine is capable of producing 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. From the manufacturer statement, this engine can be chosen with eider a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

A two-wheel-drive setup is standard, while as on many models, the four-wheel-drive system is available as optional. Thanks to its structure and engine, the new Tacoma Trail Edition can tow almost 7,000 pounds, which is excellent for such big pickup. According to Toyota, the new Trail Edition can sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds.

The upcoming 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition looks more attractive than the regular model. Basically, its design is a way better and we love it. From what we heard, the Trail model could become available this year in November.

As we mentioned, the Trail Edition is based on the SR5 double cab trim level. Unlike the Nightshade that cost $40,000, the new Trail Tacoma should start at around $30,000. The sales are limited and Toyota will sell “only” 7,000 units in the first year of production.
