The new 2022 Chevy Silverado is arriving, according to the latest spy shots. Interestingly, the upcoming pickup truck was caught during its testing, revealing mid cycle updates. However, if you didn’t know, the previous forth-generation Chevy Silverado was debuted in 2017 during a truck event in Texas, and it took much attention. Basically, this truck was airdropped on stage via a helicopter.
Since its debut last year, both rivals Ram and Ford have revealed all-new trucks and put pressure on the Chevy to make some changes on the upcoming Silverado model. Hopefully, a new Silverado ZR2 will also arrive, giving customers more options.

2022 Chevy Silverado Fist Look
The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado pickup has been spied undergoing on-road testing heavy camouflaged near the Colorado headquarters. The new pickup truck under its camo is hiding mid-cycle updates. First of all, we noticed that there appears to be a new headlight design which will undoubtedly lead to a redesigned front fascia, including a revised grille.
Generally, we should expect Silverado to feature the same changes as we saw on the new Tahoe and Bolt EUV models. The manufacturer will probably make a more attractive truck to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram TRX. Hopefully, the Silverado ZR2 is available as well, and it will join the Silverado lineup, giving customers more options.
Interior Upgrades
Besides small exterior changes, we should also expect the cabin of the 2022 Chevy Silverado to be more modern. The cabin improvements are more likely, to keeping up with Ram and Ford models. Generally, we can expect a roomy cabin, with lots of technology and more screens as it the way with most modern vehicles. Sadly, at this point, there are no images to confirm what is new inside. Overall, we look forward to seeing a fully unveiled cabin later this year.

2022 Chevy Silverado Engine Specs
Under the hood, we think that the 2022 Chevy Silverado will continue with the same vast engine options. Basically, that means we should expect the base model to use a 4.3-liter V6 powertrain generating 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. The next one is a 2.7-liter turbo inline-4 available with 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 310 horsepower.
The other three engines deploy the same 5.3-liter V8 with eider with a 6-speed automatic, 8-speed automatic transmission, or a 10-speed automatic. Interestingly, all three mentioned engines deliver the same output of 355 horsepower. Besides, the manufacturer also offers a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-6 with an output of 277 horsepower and torque of 460 lb-ft. Lastly, the most powerful engine is under the hood of LT Trail Boss, and it consisting of a 6.2-liter V8 delivering 420 horses.

Release Date and Price
The new redesigned, the 2022 Chevy Silverado, is recently spied wearing heavy camo during testing. Under the camouflage, the fifth generation features a new headlight design and redesigned front grille.
Generally, we should expect to gain the same treatment as the updated Tahoe and recently revealed Bolt EUV. Sadly, we must wait to see the updated Chevy Silverado pickup truck when it debuts later this year. As for its price, so far, Chevy didn’t reveal any information. Generally, we should expect some small price bumps over the previous generation.
