The redesigned 2022 Fiat Toro has been spied testing two days ago, wearing a brand-new front fascia. As we can see from the first spy photos, many visual changes are present, including a new grille design, standard LED headlamps, and foglamps. It appears that Fiat Toro ditch almost identical grille like we saw on the latest Strada.
While much of the exterior is covered with camo, we managed to see some improvements over the outgoing pickup. Besides exterior styling, we believe that Fiat will also introduce a modern cabin with more quality materials and techs. On top of that, there will be three engine options available for the 2022 Toro pickup. Here’s everything that we know so far.
2022 Fiat Toro Redesign
The new spy shots are available, and the upcoming 2022 Fiat Toro looks more attractive than before. Unfortunately, the exterior is covered with heavy camo wrap, but we clearly see some modifications on the latest Toro.
First of all, the pickup truck is wearing a new version of the grille that looks identical to the new Strada. However, it appears the F-I-A-T lettering on the Toro is placed lower into the grille. Besides, we also managed to see standard LED headlamps and foglamps. We believe that spied model is wearing a sporty Volcano trim.
Inside, the latest 2022 Fiat Toro will get more standard features and more quality materials. First of all, the manufacturer added an updated instrument panel featuring a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster with full HD color.
According to Fiat, the display looks crisp, and it should allow customers to view more than 20 different features and create up to 12 different configurations. Besides, the navigation is standard, and it should be up to five times faster and much easier to use. On top of that, a new Uconnect 7 touchscreen infotainment system will sit vertically, much likely as in the Ram 1500.
2022 Fiat Toro Engine Specs
Unlike the previous generation, the new one will be available with a few engine options. The base engine is a 1.8-liter inline-four-cylinder engine paired to either a manual or automatic transmission. The second one is most than likely a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder found in the Jeep Renegade.
This engine from some gossips will be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Last but not least, the manufacturer will offer a 2.0-liter Multijet II inline-four-cylinder turbodiesel that should come with a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the first two engines, the turbodiesel will come with a four-wheel drive as standard.
Release Date, Price
The redesigned variant, 2022 Fiat Toro, should bring more improvements than we thought. First of all, it looks more attractive, and it underpins the Jeep Compass, Jeep Renegade, and Ram ProMaster City models.
If you didn’t know, the Fiat Toro is very popular in Brazil, and since its first launch, sales figures are excellent. Production of the new pickup will begin sometime this year at the Pernambuco (Goiana) Plant. Pricing are yet to be revealed.
