The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid compact pickup will debut tomorrow, as per the official announcement. Besides similar styling to the Bronco Sport crossover and Escape models, the new pickup will also share the same platform. It’s also likely that it will be powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, producing no less than 250-hp. Of course, there should also be a less powerful choice for the entry-level models.
We have the first official photo, and it seems that it will be smaller than the body-on-frame Ranger mid-size truck. The truck sales will start at the end of the year, starting at just over $20,000.

2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid Exterior
The upcoming Blue Oval’s Maverick pickup will likely to share its platform with the latest Escape and Bronco Sport crossovers. Besides some of the spy shots, the truck is teaser two days ago, featuring a very compact and stylish design. The advertisement model is spotted with a hybrid badge on the tailgate, and it shows an XLT badge.
Moreover, like the Honda Ridgeline and the upcoming Hyundai Santa Cruz, the new 2022 Ford Maverik Hybrid will have similar unibody construction and an independent rear suspension. In terms of design, it looks attractive, featuring the big Maverick lettering on the taillight.
Interior Expectations
We all hope that the new 2022 Ford Maverick will bring something fresh to the market in terms of interior. However, many believe that this truck will use plenty of cues from the Escape model, which is not bad at all. This SUV offers a plethora of high-quality materials and some advanced technology. Moreover, expect no less with the Maverick truck.
Considering that it’s a hybrid model, we should expect the battery to be under the floor. Generally speaking, the hybrid Ford Maverick won’t be the first or only electrified truck in Ford’s lineup. The manufacturer also offers a hybridized F-150 and recently debuted the electric F-150 Lightning.

2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid Specs
As it shares the same platform with the Bronco Sport, the new 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid will most likely to borrow its engine. That means we should expect a 2.5-liter inline-four gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain that will produce around 250 horses.
Besides this engine, the base model could use a less powerful choice. Stay tuned, because tomorrow we will know more details about including its powertrain options, specs, and towing and hauling capabilities.

Release Date, Price
The debut of the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick will happen tomorrow. Considering the Covid-19 safety protocols, you’ll be only able to watch live unveil on Ford’s social media channels, TikTok, and commercials on Hulu. Interestingly, a few days ago, Ford posted a new advertisement on YouTube, and we first noticed a hybrid badge on the tailgate.
As we mentioned, the new Maverick is expected to share a platform with the Bronco Sport crossover and the same engine. The sales should begin at the end of the year, starting at just over $20,000 for the base model. So, expect a hybrid one to cost no less than 26,000. This pickup will be built alongside the Bronco Sport at Ford’s plant in Mexico.
