Reportedly, the upcoming Ford Ranger will finally get a hybrid version. Blue Oval reveals some information regarding its 2022 Ford Ranger Hybrid, and we should expect significant changes. Alongside this pickup truck, the manufacturer will also introduce the new Everest SUV with the same hybrid system.
The Ford’s plan is to make the hybrid model more competitive and keep up with other companies. The forthcoming pickup will most likely use a 2.3-liter turbocharged powertrain paired to an electric motor that delivers 362 horses and 502 pound-feet of torque. This engine will probably use a 10-speed automatic transmission. The PHEV version has also been rumored, and we should expect to use the same system as the Explorer and Escape models.

2022 Ford Ranger Hybrid Exterior
In terms of exterior styling, we don’t have much information regarding the upcoming 2022 Ford Ranger Hybrid model. From plenty of speculations, we should expect an almost identical look to the regular one. Of course, Blue Oval will make some changes here and there to make it more recognized as the hybrid variant.
It has been confirmed that the next-generation Ranger will sit on the same platform as the upcoming Volkswagen Amarok pickup truck. Generally, it will deploy a modified version of the T6 platform from the current model, allowing the battery to be placed under the Ranger`s floor.
More Premium Cabin
The cabin of the all-new 2022 Ford Ranger Hybrid will not differ at all from the regular one. By that we mean, the interior layout will remain the same with mild updates inside. Blue Oval will most likely add more premium materials and techs to separate the hybrid model from the standard edition.
In addition to investing in electric vehicles, Blue Oval is spending big money to be more competitive than the rest. Like the Everest SUV, we can expect Ranger to feature the brand’s new SYNC4 infotainment system and the 12.8-inch vertical infotainment screen on the center. A similar infotainment system we saw recently inside the new Ford Mustang Mach E model. Besides, expect the new Ranger Hybrid to feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with remote connectivity.
