The forthcoming 2022 Honda Ridgeline is ready for additional upgrades. This reliable pickup truck provides excellent capabilities, and the performance is outstanding. It is too early for Honda to release official details about its new pickup truck. However, some things are more than evident in the future. We don’t expect a complete redesign or a next-gen model.
Instead, the Japanese manufacturer will opt for the mid-cycle refreshments. Thanks to that, Ridgeline will gain even more attractive design and a more modern interior. Under the hood, changes could happen, but we are sceptical about it. On the other hand, we could see the very first Ridgeline Type-R version. On top of that, the Black Edition variant will also be in the offer.
2022 Honda Ridgeline Design Expectations
When it comes to exterior design, 2022 Honda Ridgeline is getting a couple of upgrades. This mid-size pickup truck will once again borrow styling cues from the Pilot SUV. Two models are already sharing the same platform. As we previously mentioned, mid-cycle refreshments are about to happen.
Ridgeline model will gain more stylish front fascia. Some reports are talking about new headlights and fog lights. Moreover, the grille will be slightly reshaped. Moreover, we can expect more chrome accents upfront. New optional wheels are in the offer, and a two-way tailgate will be offered as standard.
Inside the cabin, 2022 Honda Ridgeline will look more modern. The new model will once again offer a room for five persons. This time, passengers can expect a higher level of comfort. Generally, the interior will mostly remain. That includes most of the controls and their layout.
On the other hand, new standard upholstery is very certain, along with the backlighting system that will be optional. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are offered as standard and Ridgeline will have six trim levels. Of course, if you want more luxury, you should buy at least RTL-E trim level, if not Black Edition as the range-topping model.
As we already wrote, a new 2022 Honda Ridgeline could get a new engine. However, don’t be surprised if the mid-size pickup truck continues to roll with a 3.6-liter V6. This engine is present for years, and it is a very reliable performer. It can produce 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The platform is unchanged, so Ridgeline remains a front-wheel-drive model. Upper trims such as RTL-E or Black Edition are offering AWD setup as standard.
A 6-speed automatic gearbox will also remain. As for the fuel economy, Ridgeline provides 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. A hybrid powertrain is another speculation and a possible outcome, to be honest. If that really happens, Ridgeline Hybrid will provide significantly better mileage, over 30 mpg combined. The last rumors that we hope to become a reality is the high-performance Ridgeline Type-R version. Besides sportier appearance, this model will surely arrive with a higher output.
2022 Honda Ridgeline Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2022 Honda Ridgeline will slightly jump. The current model is priced at $32,000, and a new version will start at $33,500. If the hybrid version arrives, expect the price to start at $40,000. The range-topping Black Edition model won’t cost below $50,000. The Japanese manufacturer will release a new 2022 Ridgeline pickup truck in the second half of 2021.
