It seems that the mid-size segment is finally getting the real competitor. Reportedly, the all-new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N pickup truck is in the works, and it should join the fleet next year. After the great public reactions of the i30 N fastback and Kona N, Hyundai started using N treatment on the other models in its lineup.
Interestingly, a few renderings of the upcoming pickup truck are available, and the first impressions are positive. Unlike the regular variant, the model will N treatment looks astonishing and more sporty. The new distinctive headlamp and grille design making it the most stylish pickup truck on the market. 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N Exterior
The all-new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N from the first renderings looks impressive and incredibly sporty. It features a very aggressive blacked-out grille, large air intakes, as well as signature lights. Basically, all the typical N sporty elements are present on the exterior. No doubt, the design is attractive, and we like the new pattern on the wheels.
The regular Santa Cruz already looks great, but the N high-performance pickup truck took much attention with its specially painted colors.
Same Layout, More Comfort
The cabin design of the new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N reinforces the dynamic feeling of its exterior. Reportedly, the seating layout remains unchanged, and this pickup truck is capable of fitting five passengers. Generally speaking, it offers a much sportier cabin than the regular one.
Like the other N Hyundai models, we should expect the new truck to be dressed with comfortable leather sport seats, a completely digital gauge cluster, and at least one larger infotainment display. Dark chrome trim, stitching on the steering wheel complete the performance-inspired interior. On the technology side, we expect at least a premium audio system, panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and dual automatic climate control.
2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N Engine Specs
Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz N powertrain. We think that it will use some of Hyundai’s existing engines. The regular pickup truck offers two potent engines. The standard is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that develops 190 horsepower and around 180 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to this engine, this unit can tow around 3,500 pounds.
On top of that, there is a turbocharged variant as well, and it delivers 275 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the optional engine provides around 5,000-pound towing capacity, which is much better than the base variant. In addition, unlike the base model that uses an 8-speed automatic transmission, the more potent variant comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Hyundai is still quiet about the upcoming Santa Cruz N pickup truck. At this moment, we only have some of the renderings, but still no official confirmation.
Many believe that the new variant will arrive next year, starting way more than the base one. The current Hyundai Santa Cruz begins at $25,000, and it goes to $35,000 for the more equipment model.
