The new spy shots of 2022 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab emerged on many popular websites. This famous mid-size pickup truck has been spied testing in Michigan ahead of its official debut. First thing first, we noticed that this pickup features new squared-off styling and the King Cab configuration.
Besides that, the whole body of the upcoming pickup truck is camouflaged, not allowing us to see what is changed and updated under the skin. Nissan confirmed that this model is arriving, and it will be fully unveiled sometime next year.

2022 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab Exterior Design
The lastest spied 2022 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab prototype show us a new squared-off styling despite a bit of camouflage. Nissan first teased the new Frontier a few mounts ago, and we can see the same design language on the new set of photos.
Like before, there are three trims available: base S, mid-grade SV, and off-road-ready PRO-4X. On the Crew Cab SV model, buyers can opt for a Special Edition package that makes this pickup more stylish. Basically, the Special package will add to Frontier chrome grille, body-color rear bumper, and a stylish 18-inch wheels. However, if you need an ultimate pickup truck for off-roading, the new PRO-4X model is an excellent choice to consider. This model features body-color grille, stronger bumpers, and fog light housing.
Redesigned Interior
Consider that the 2022 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab has a completely different body than the regular pickup, the interior should be new as well. From what we heard, buyers can expect the same layout inside with a bit more room. Nissan Frontier S features cloth seats, air-conditioning, Bluetooth, a backup camera, a 7-in color touchscreen, a USB/iPod port and Siri Eyes Free, cruise control, keyless entry, and so on.
However, jumping to Frontier PRO-4X Crew Cab models, one can enjoy in the leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel, white-faced gauges, NissanConnect, and navigation with a 5.8-inch touchscreen. The new NissanConnect also includes voice recognition for the navigation and audio system, satellite radio, and streaming audio via Bluetooth.

2022 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab New Engine
The Nissan recently revealed that the next-gen Frontier would come with the new powertrain. The new engine consists of a 3.8-liter V-6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. This engine uses a nine-speed automatic transmission.
From the first testing, this unit wasn’t more impressive than the old 4.0-liter V-6. It delivers the same acceleration numbers and worse fuel economy than a 2017 model. Like before, the Frontier pickup truck will use a rear- and four-wheel drive and can once again expect Pro-4X off-road trim level.
Release Date and Price
According to the latest news, Nissan could fully introduce the new 2022 Frontier either at the end of this year or early in 2021. As we stated, the first spy photos are available and they reveal some updates.
The caught model uses an extended cab platform and is heavily camouflaged. As for the price, the manufacturer didn’t reveal anything yet, but we can expect a slightly higher price than the base model.
