The new 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss will arrive next year, featuring a much better off-road package. According to Chevy, the Trail Boss package will be available on LT and Z71 trucks, and the kit should include a 1.0-inch lift, skid plates, red tow hooks, and stylish 17-inch wheels. Besides exterior changes, we also expect some modifications inside, which will translate to a more sportier cabin.
Like the regular Colorado, the Trail Boos package will also use the same three engine choices. The base model uses a 2.5-liter inline-four, while optional, the manufacturer offers 3.6-liter V-6, and a turbodiesel 2.8-liter inline-four.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss Exterior
Like its bigger sibling the Silverado model, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado pickup will be offered with the off-road package Trail Boss starting for the 2023 model year. As far as we can tell, the package will cost around $2995 on LT models and $2895 on Z71 models. For 2023, the manufacturer will make some visual modifications and the Trail Boss package will include a suspension lift, different wheels, and skid plates.
As you can see, this is a similar package as we saw with AT4 trim level that’s already available with the GMC Canyon. However, we expect ZR2 to likely be more comfortable on and off-road than the Trail Boss. Both models include skid plates, while 33-inch tires are available on ZR2 model, which are slightly larger than the Trail Boss’ 32s.
Interior Design
The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will be reportedly elevated with a new cabin. It will look more modern, featuring a 13.4-inch diagonal touch-screen and available Super Cruise driver assistance technology. We saw the same redesign on the recently revealed sibling Silverado. However, considering that the Trail Boss package is made to improve off-roading, we don’t expect any changes inside compared to the original model.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado Engine
The upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will continue to offer three engine choices. The entry-level model is available with a 2.5-liter inline-four, delivering 200 horses and 191 lb.-ft of torque. The next one is a 3.6-liter V-6, developing 308 hp and 275 lb.-ft of torque. The last one is a turbodiesel 2.8-liter inline-four that makes 186 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft of torque. This engine is also the most efficient achieving up to 30 mpg on the highway.
Towing Capacity
The max tow rating of the upcoming truck depends on the engine. So, with the base model and 4-cylinder, the Colorado can tow up to 3,500 lbs., while V6 doubles the max tow rating of 7,000 lbs. However, with the Duramax diesel you can count on 7,700 lbs. of the capacity.
