The new aggressively styled 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will reportedly arrive next year, featuring more updates than expected. This variant isn’t an ordinary half-ton pickup truck, and it’s made to beat high-flying Ford F-150 Raptor and the Ram 1500 TRX with 700-plus-hp.
Along with its eye-catching appearance, the bow-tie brand will introduce a more modern cabin filled with nice materials. This model rides on the new 33-inch-tall tires, and it features a tricked-out suspension. On top of that, the ZR2 deploys a V8 engine that produces 420 horses. Since it’s positioned as the lineup’s flagship, the new truck will cost the same as the top-of-the-line High Country model.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Design
To keep up with Ram and Ford models, the manufacturer redesigned Silverado ZR2 to be more competitive. First of all, the front fascia looks much aggressive, thanks to the massive grille and thinner LED headlights. In general, everything is impressive, and the new model rides on 33-inch-tall tires, featuring specially made suspension.
It also comes with Multimatic spool-valve dampers derived from Formula 1 cars and Baja race trucks. We also noticed some changes on the back, like a bigger bumper, a new exhaust system, and almost the same tailgate as on the previous gen. In comparison, it might not impress fans like the models from Ford and Ram, but it is still an excellently crafted and strong-looking truck.
First Look Inside
Inside, the latest 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will stand up compared to other trims with its slick-looking dashboard, which features a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument and a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen. The cabin also comes with leather-trimmed seats, offering great comfort. Like the previous model, the new ZR2 is only available as a crew cab, with plenty of legroom and headroom behind.
The most exciting news is that the oriented 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes standard on the Silverado ZR2. The manufacturer also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and built-in Google voice assistance.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Powertrain
Under the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 bulging hood, the manufacturer placed a very potent engine. It uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 that’s available in the regular Silverado 1500 as well. This engine can make 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Every ZR2 also uses a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case and electronic-locking front and rear differentials. As for the towing, with a conventional trailer hitch, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 can tow up to 8900 pounds. Also, the new half-ton pickup can handle a payload of up to 1440 pounds.

Release Date and Price
As we said, the release of the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will probably happen in spring next year. We can expect this model to arrive stronger than ever. Actually, ZR2 is the most formidable full-size truck in the market. Anyway, it will use the same engine as the Silverado 1500 model.
According to many reports, the ZR2 truck will cost the same as the top-of-the-line High Country model. The current trim starts at $55,000, offering much more than other models in the Chevy lineup.
