The 2023 Chevy Cheyenne was rumored last year, and we finally got the first look at renderings of the upcoming truck. In case you didn’t know, General Motors submitted two years ago a trademark application for the Cheyenne nameplate, and since then, this model has been rumored a couple of times.
The first ever Cheyenne concept was introduced in 2003 at the North American International Auto Show, and it was one of the most promising pickup at the time. Unfortunately, the production of this model didn’t happen, but many reports are suggesting its comeback next year.
2023 Chevy Cheyenne First Look
Thanks to the first renderings, we have a closer look at what the 2023 Chevy Cheyenne might look like. The design is handsome, we must admit, and absolutely unique. Like the Silverado model, the Chevy Cheyenne dominates in the front with a massive grille and attractive LED headlights.
The oddest thing about the rendered model is white stripes, which are rare on today’s modern vehicles. Apart from that, everything else is simular as on the latest Silverado, including the same rear end with attractive taillights and tailgate.
Despite rendering photos of the exterior, we don’t know how this model will look like inside. GM will probably make it modern just as they do with the Silverado and Sierra trucks. In general, we expect the 2023 Chevy Cheyenne to share many goodies with the mentioned models.
The highlight of the Chevrolet offer is a large 13.4-in touchscreen infotainment system along with a 12.3-in digital gauge cluster. Upper trims from this manufacturer include leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and a Bose premium audio system.
2023 Chevy Cheyenne Engine Specs
Under the hood, the Chevy Cheyenne will most likely deploy one of the Silverado’s engines. In general, many believe that it will use a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft of torque. In case you didn’t know, the current Silverado besides this engine also offers a few other options. The base model is available with a potent 2.7-liter turbo inline-4 producing 310 horses. There’s also a more potent 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower.
A diesel engine is expected as well, albeit it may not be the same as in the Silverado. The diesel engine under the Silverado consists of a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 developing 277 horses. This engine also has the same amount of torque as the 6.2-liter V8.
2023 Chevy Cheyenne Release Date, Price
The 2023 Chevy Cheyenne is not yet official, but many believe it will arrive sometime next year. Based on rumors, the forthcoming model could use the same platform as its sibling Silverado, and probably some of its engines as well.
Generally speaking, no one knows if this model will arrive as a brand-new pickup or as a special version of the Silverado model. Anyway, if this model happens, it will definitively be in the pricing line with the Silverado. The current model comes with a base price of $31,500. GM will most likely to reveal more details in the coming months.
