2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD: What We Know So Far

One of the hugest heavy-duty trucks, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD, will arrive redesigned next year. Reportedly, the manufacturer will make some changes to both the upcoming 2500 HD and 3500 HD. First of all, we can expect a much more robust design to keep up with the strongest trucks on the market, like the Ford Super Duty or Ram HD. So far, both Ford and Ram rivals were offering much richer cabins and better tech features.

Like the last model, the new Chevy Silverado 3500 HD is powered by outstanding Duramax diesel powertrain that makes 910 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to this engine, this truck has a max tow rating of 36,000 pounds.

2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Comes With Mild Changes

One of the largest General Motors trucks, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD, offers impressive capability to meet all your work needs. According to the latest news, the upcoming truck will receive some small refreshments.

In general, last year’s model was fully redesigned, and we expect the new Silverado 3500HD to get some mild cosmetic changes. The first thing you see looking at this truck is its massive grille with a height that reaches the necks of some adults. Also, the truck’s headlights were revised last year, and we should expect the same DuraBed on the back that comes exclusively to heavy-duty models. Trailer-tow mirrors are standard, as the power-operated tailgate.

Cabin Upgrades

The new 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD interior features excessive amounts of quality materials, even on less expensive models. It comes with supportive seats similar to what we saw in the lighter Silverado version. Chevrolet’s standard techs include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a six-speaker audio system, and a 3.5-inch instrument cluster display. However, going up to LT models, you’ll get a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, built-in navigation, a head-up display, and a seven-speaker Bose audio system.

The safety of this truck is better than we thought. As standard Chevy Silverado 3500 HD offers Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts. Forward collision warning and front automatic emergency braking can be obtained with the Safety Confidence package. LTZ Premium and High Country Deluxe packages add distance indicators, lane departure warnings, and automatic high beams.

Both Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD uses a 6.6-liter V8 that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. As for the transmission, it comes with a six-speed automatic. The manufacturer also offers a stronger optional Duramax diesel engine with a 6.6-liter V8 making 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet. Unlike the base engine, this one is hooked up to an Allison 10-speed automatic.

Both units come with rear or all-wheel drive, and each is compatible with the single or dual rear wheel axle. The gas-powered model can tow up to 17,400 pounds, while a much stronger can pull up to 36,000 pounds. Ford claims that you can tow 1000 pounds more or a total of 37,000-pound rating with the Super Duty model.
