The new 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 will reportedly arrive later this year, and it will be cheaper than the RAM’s TRX and Ford’s Raptor trucks. However, the catch is that both the Raptor and TRX are models providing more power than the ZR2. In case you didn’t know, this is the first time that Silverado has worn the ZR2 badge, which has so far only appeared on smaller Chevy trucks and SUVs.
Anyway, the Silverado ZR2 starts just under $69,000, which is almost $10k higher than the ZR2 Silverado dressed in the High-Country trim. Here’s everything that we know about the upcoming truck.

Elegant and Agressive Design
The 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 isn’t as extreme as the Raptor or TRX, but it still looks pretty aggressive. Also, thanks to its proportions, the Silverado ZR2 is much easier to drive and is the most capable half-ton Silverado. Despite aggressive appearance, this model rides on large 33-inch-tall tires, and it comes with a tricked-out suspension.
The Multimatic spool-valve dampers are available as well, and they are derived from Formula 1 cars and Baja race trucks. On the cosmetic side, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 comes with a rugged exterior that is unlike any other truck in the lineup. It wears a bold black grille, Chevrolet bowtie logo, and LED headlights on either side of the grille.
2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Interior
Inside, the latest 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 looks stylish and is only available in a crew-cab body style. Thanks to that, there’s expansive passenger space, especially in the back seat. This truck can match the interior of the RAM TRX model, which is the most advanced so far.
The ZR2 also comes with a slick-looking dashboard that hosts a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and a standard 13.4-inch touchscreen next to it. Other available features include a wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and features built-in Google voice assistance, maps, and an app store.

2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Engine Specs
Under the hood of the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 is a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8. The same engine also powers the regular Silverado 1500. It makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Also, the engine pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission, featuring a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case and electronic-locking front and rear differentials.
However, this is still far away compared to the models in the same class such as the Ford Raptor or even more powerful RAM TRX. It is also worth mentioning that the Silverado ZR2 can tow up to 8900 pounds with a conventional trailer hitch. It can also handle a payload of around 1440 pounds.

2023 Chevy Silverado Price, Release Date
The new 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 isn’t an ordinary half-ton pickup truck. This model is made to tackle rough terrains and to provide a very quiet ride.
Despite sharing the same engine with the original model, the new Silverado ZR2 looks more attractive and unique. This model starts at less than $69,000, which is less than its rivals such as the Ford Raptor and RAM TRX. As we already mentioned, the new truck is expected to arrive later this year as the 2023 model.
