2023 Ford F-150 Electric Spied Testing, Interior Photos Available As Well

Blue Oval company had reportedly started testing its upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Electric. The prototype was spied a few days ago, wearing a heavy camo. Compared to the first batch of photos released a few months ago, the latest ones reveal some difference.

First of all, the F-150 Electric has a more traditional set of wheels wrapped with more off-road-focused tires, front fenders, frunk, and various other sheet metal components. Unlike the standard F-150, the Electric one will feature a dual electric motor, presumably one for each axle. The Ford F-150 electric is scheduled to enter production later in the year, while sales are expected to starts sometime next year.

Recent spy photos of the upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Electric gave us an early look. The new zero-emission truck is heavily camouflaged, and it looks identical to the regular model. According to Blue Oval, the electric version will feature some updates that will separate it from the rest of the F-150 models. First of all, electric truck comes with new independent rear suspension setup, and it features a few tweaks on the front fascia and the side panels.

Interestingly, designers use many cues from the F-150 Tremor, as we can see. However, body changes are present, and the electric version comes with a closed-off front grille. Generally, this is where one of the most significant changes happens. Ford’s big lettering is adorning the fascia, similar to what the automaker does for the Raptor models. On top of that, the upcoming truck features a thin LED strip connecting the headlights, underlining the greener character of this pickup.

First Look Inside

At this point, there is only one spy photo available of the cabin. As we can see, the forthcoming pickup will not drastically differ from the regular one. Like the current F-150, the F-150 Electric will feature a similar infotainment screen that’s more horizontally oriented.

However, according to the image, the screen on the new Electric truck is not quite as large as the 15.5-inch unit used in the Mach-E. Generally, from what we can see, it is larger than the 12-inch screen present in the latest generation of the F-150. Sync 4, the newest version of Ford’s infotainment system is standard, as the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

So far, Ford hasn’t released much information about the 2023 F-150 Electric’s powertrain. We know that it will feature dual electric motors, placed one for each axle. Horsepower ratings are unknown, but as the Blue Oval’s flagship pickup truck, we should expect great performances.

Reportedly, the new truck will deploy battery packs capable of delivering at least 300 miles of range per charge. The manufacturer will probably allow home charging via 110- and 220-volt outlets, with the optional DC fast-charging capability.
