2023 Ford F-150 Raptor: Everything You Need to Know Before Buying This Truck

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will arrive next year, with a bulkier body than the regular F-150. In general, this pickup truck is on steroids, featuring a stronger chassis that’s enhanced to endure a great drive on muddy, rocky, and sandy environments. On top of that, this model comes with a twin-turbo V6 powertrain producing 450 hp.

However, compared to the Ram’s TRX’s supercharged engine that delivers 702-hp, Ford’s stronger pickup truck is still far behind. For 2023, the manufacture doesn’t make any major changes to the Raptor, but we’re expecting the highly anticipated Raptor R to debut likely sometime next year as well. The R variant should be more aggressive, and it will probably be powered by a 700-plus-hp supercharged V8 to challenge the Ram TRX model.

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor to Receive Minimal Changes

Based on leaks and rumors, the forthcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will only gain a couple of changes. As we mentioned, this truck is based on the regular F-150 model, and it features a stronger chassis and specially made suspension that provides great drive on muddy, rocky, and sandy environments.

Besides regular model, Blue Oval is also working on a more aggressive variant called Raptor R that should rival Ram’s TRX model. It’s been suggested that the upcoming R will come with a more attractive front, revised hood, and new rear fenders.

On the inside, the Raptor’s cabin should look almost the same as the regular F-150 SuperCrew model. However, the manufacturer boosted the high-performance version with a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster and more nicer materials. We like the new steering wheel that now features a laser-etched logo and prominent aluminum paddle shifters.

The aluminum interior trim is standard on the Raptor variant, but you can still get an optional carbon-fiber interior accent and more supportive Recaro front buckets. From many reports, the new Raptor will no longer be offered in the extended cab (a.k.a. SuperCab) body style. However, the SuperCrew crew cab is the favorite, offering much more room, especially behind.

Engine Specs

As the current model, the new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will probably use the same engine. That means we can expect the familiar Ford’s 450-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. The engine will probably use a paddle-shifted 10-speed automatic transmission that feeds all four wheels via a standard all-wheel-drive system.

If that’s not enough for you, Ford plans to counter Ram’s 702-hp with the new Raptor R model. Rumors suggest that this model will use the Shelby GT500’s 760-hp supercharged V8 powertrain.

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor Price, Release Date

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will start at $66,000, while the R performance variant could be around $75,000. As far as we know, the manufacturer will likely introduce the R model alongside the regular Raptor sometime next year.

Besides more powerful engine, the R variant will also come with specially made suspension that includes larger dampers and a five-link rear coil-spring setup. Along with other chassis enhancements, the R model will be available with a vast number of wheels and tires.
