The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler pickup truck is an all-new entry-level off-road variant that will debut this fall. According to Blue Oval, the new model will feature some of the equipment found in the FX4 package. From what we know, it will include the same electronic locking rear differential and hill descent control.
The Rattler will only be available as a SuperCab or SuperCrew, and you’ll be able to choose one of the optional engines. There are exactly three engine options including twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6, 5.0-liter V8, and the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler Exterior Design
Visually, the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler looks way bolder than the regular F-150 variant. As we said, the forthcoming truck is an entry-level off-road model that features great equipment. It will only be available as a SuperCab or SuperCrew. This truck is distinguished by a large and attractive grille and painted 18-inch aluminum wheels. There is also a Rattler badge on the fenders and dual exhaust tip that should produce “a bold sound”.
Also, the manufacturer added a skid plate that protects the fuel tank, transfer case, and front differential. It is also worth noting that this model is fitted with all-terrain tires. The SuperCab is available with either the eight-foot bed or six-foot-six-inch bed, while the SuperCrew offers either a six-foot-six-inch bed or a five-foot-six-inch bed.
First Look Inside
The interior of the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler is sporty thanks to bronze accents and stitching. Despite being the base off-road trim, this truck includes an 8-inch touch screen, which runs on an easy-to-use SYNC infotainment system and includes support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also comes with a pair of USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The suite of driver assistance features includes blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, automatic high beams and reverse automatic braking.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler Engine Options
From what we know, the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will offer a couple of engines. The buyers of this amazing truck will get a standard 2.7-liter twin-turbo that provides 325 hp. Also, there is a more powerful engine that comes as optional. It is a word of a proven 5.0-liter V8, which is able of producing 400 horsepower and a torque of 410 lb-ft.
The last one is the most efficient thanks to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 400 hp and up to 500 lb-ft of twisting power. The RWD system will be standard, while the four-wheel-drive should come as an optional. Unfortunately, a diesel powertrain is not available.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler Price, Release Date
The brand-new Ford F-150 Rattler looks great and more affordable than the FX4 package. However, the manufacturer didn’t reveal the exact price of the entry-level model, but we expect it to start at around $35,000, which is around 7000 more than the base F-150 model.
Of course, if you choose an optional cab or some of the optional powertrains, the price will increase. As for sales, they should begin this fall, most likely in October.
