2023 Ford Ranger PHEV Prototype Spied Testing Once Again

The all-new 2023 Ford Ranger PHEV prototype was spied yesterday once again in Southern Europe. Camouflage on the upcoming pickup is still heavy, but we managed to see some changes. First that we noticed is a yellow sticker on the windshields that usually denote electrified prototypes.

So, the plug-in hybrid Ranger is coming, and Ford also confirms it. We’ve heard reliable rumors, and it will probably combine a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a single electric motor. Combined, they will be churning out 362 horsepower (270 kilowatts) and 502 pound-feet (680 Newton-meters) of torque. Our sources say the new pickup will probably debut sometime early next year.

The new 2023 Ford Ranger PHEV is spied testing, but camouflage is still heavy. Proportionally, the new truck looks the same as the regular one, but it has yellow stickers on the windshields that denote its electrified prototypes. As for styling, the new Ranger PHEV will definitively carry plenty of influence from the F-150.

We also see many commonalities with the new Ford Maverick. First of all, it features the same headlights. As a mid-size pickup truck, it’s proportionally compact, and it departs from other Fords truck thanks to its distinctive face. Besides refreshed styling, the new PHEV model will most likely come with upgraded suspension components.

Interior Comes With More Quality

Inside, we should expect the new 2023 Ford Ranger PHEV to be more modern than the original one. From what we heard, Blue Oval will make the cabin more premium, adding more quality materials. Overall, like the base model, the PHEV will keep the same seating arrangement. So, expect plenty of room and enough space for five passengers.

Besides, a new technology will be present, including a bigger infotainment system and probably a virtual cockpit. Besides, we expect as well a standard pre-collision warning system that detects cars and pedestrians in front and can ultimately apply the brakes to prevent a collision.
