2023 Ford Ranger Unveiled with Refreshed Design

The new-generation 2023 Ford Ranger has been unveiled yesterday to the world, featuring a refreshed design. According to Blue Oval, the forthcoming model is built on a completely new chassis that will allow for a new V6 and other propulsion technologies.

The new chassis has a wheelbase that’s 50 mm longer and equally wider compared to the predecessor. That means a hybrid or full-electric version could also be on the cards. Ford will reportedly use a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine for global markets, and we can also expect hybrid and other electrified powertrains .

2023 Ford Ranger Facelift

The 2023 Ford Ranger looks definitively more rugged than its predecessor. According to Ford, the Ranger will come with a wheelbase that’s 50 mm longer and equally wider than the outgoing model. First impressions are positive, and the Ford comes with a taller, squared-off hood and a larger grille that looks aggressive. It also has ‘C-clamp’ headlights and twin bars that are similar to the ones found on the smaller Maverick.

Overall, the new-generation Ranger looks handsome, especially if you choose a Wildtrak that comes with more rugged cladding. At this moment, there is no single news about the Raptor variant.

First Look Inside

On the inside, the new 2023 Ford Ranger receives a modern look and more comfort thanks to its wider body. We like the new design inside and honey-comb patterned air vents. For 2023, Blue Oval added several interior storage solutions, including a hidden upper glovebox, door pocket cubbies, and storage located under the rear seat.

In terms of technology, the Ranger as standard comes with a large 10.1-inch infotainment display and vertically-oriented 12.1-inch screen. Ford’s latest Sync 4 interface runs on both and is very smooth. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will likely be standard as well as the in-dash navigation, B&O Play stereo system, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

The new 2023 Ford Ranger Ford will probably be available with a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine as standard. It will be made for global markets, but don’t expect this engine to be available in Canada. From what we heard, the manufacture of this engine also offers a more potent one.

The Ford Ranger could also come with a 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder that produces 270 horses. Expect hybrid and other electrified powertrains to be also available, but likely later.

2023 Ford Ranger Release Date, Price

According to Blue Oval, the new 2023 Ford Ranger’s global production will start next year for Europe and Australia. However, for other markets this model will be available later. The new truck will be refreshed, featuring new front fascia and new frame that blends the Maverick compact pickup and some styling cues from the larger Ford F-150.

In general, the most exciting news is that the Ranger will adopt a huge 10.1 and 12.0-inch touchscreens with Ford’s Sync 4 infotainment and voice-activated connectivity. Anyway, there will be five trim levels, and the entry-one XL will cost around $27,000, while the most expensive Wildtrak will cost $40,000.
