From some early reports, the upcoming 2023 GMC Canyon will receive a complete overhaul. The third generation will look better than ever, and we can expect even more uniqueness inside. Like before, this midsize pickup truck will be offered with the same cab and bed configurations.
There are variants with an Extended Cab, Long Box Crew Cab, Short Box Crew Cab, and Long Box. However, besides exterior changes, we can also expect many updates inside as well. The upcoming GMC Canyon truck will continue being assembled at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri by GM USA. From what we hear, it will hit markets in the fall of the following year.

2023 GMC Canyon Redesign
The third-generation 2023 GMC Canyon will ride on an updated GMT 31XX platform used by the second-gen model. This updated architecture is literary known as 31XX-2. If you didn’t know, the models that underpin the same platform are a newer Chevy Colorado and Jeep Wrangler. Besides, the GMC Canyon will receive a completely new look.
From many statements, this pickup truck will not be small as before. Also, we can expect a revised front fascia with a new grille, LED headlights, and fog lights. AT4 model should be available as well, featuring more off-road equipment. Compared to other GMC models, the AT4 is the most favorite among the younger population.
Cabin Features
Inside, the 2023 GMC Canyon will also receive some significant changes. The new pickup truck will be more modern, keeping the same seating layout. Depending on cab choice, this model can easily place three or five occupants.
Interestingly, we heard that the new generation would also bring more standard equipment.
Unlike the previous model, we should expect better quality and some of the advanced techs. Many were suggesting the new infotainment system, very comfortable seats, and even more aids. Moreover, AT4 is the best choice, which will offer much more amenities and sporty seats.

2023 GMC Canyon Powertrain
We expect the 2023 GMC Canyon to offer only one engine choice. This model should use a turbocharged GM 2.7 liter L3B four-cylinder engine with TriPower technology. Beneath the Sierra 1500, this engine makes 310 horsepower (231 kW) @ 5600 RPM and 348 pound-feet of torque (471 Nm) @ 1500 rpm. It`s also connected to the very smooth 10-speed automatic transmission as the only choice.
In that regard, the upcoming truck will no longer offer the turbo-diesel Duramax engine choice and the six-cylinder engine choices. However, we think that they would be replaced with new ones.

How Much Will Cost the New 2023 GMC Canyon?
We expect the new 2023 GMC Canyon to be launch in the second half of the 2022 calendar year. However, we think that introduction will happen in the first half of the 2022 calendar year.
As we mentioned, this pickup truck should be assembled at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri by GM USA. Generally speaking, this is the only plant in the world to produce this model. As for the price, we can expect the upcoming pickup truck to cost slightly higher than the current one that costs $27,000.
