The new Honda Ridgeline will reportedly arrive later in the year, and it should be powered by a new hybrid system. Based on many rumors, the forthcoming truck will use the similar setup as the Ford Maverick. The upcoming Maverick will arrive with a 2.5-liter Atkinson inline-4 plus a 94-kW battery pack. Besides, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will also stand up from the original model in many things.
However, don’t expect some significant upgrades because the manufacturer will continue to offer this midsize pickup with the same spacious 4-door cab, providing seating for five. Unlike most of other pickups that have body-on-frame chassis, the Ridgeline is built on a unique unit-body chassis.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Design
In terms of styling, the forthcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will be completely the same as the original one. Of course, the manufacturer will make some small upgrades and adjustment, separating the hybrid variant from the original.
As far as we know, the hybrid model will be highlighted by a new hood with a power bulge and with a more squared-off nose. We’re also expecting this truck to have a larger and upright grille, featuring more attractive LED headlights graphics. Overall, the hybrid model will probably come with an array of different wheels and tires.
The interior layout of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid model will not drastically depart from the original. As you may know, the most significant interior updates took place for the last model year. So, we’re expecting to see the same 8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Like the Sport, RTL, and RTL-E models that gets special accents on their dash, steering wheel, and center console, we expect the same treatment on the hybrid model as well. We also expect the same spacious 4-door cabin that accommodates five adults comfortably. The top-range Black Edition, which is the most favorite trim, will come with a black leather interior, red ambient LED interior lighting, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Specs
Based on rumors, the forthcoming Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will likely use the similar setup as the Ford Maverick. The current model is available with a very potent 2.5-liter Atkinson inline-4 + 94-kW battery pack. Thanks to that, the Maverick produces 191 total system horsepower.
On top of that, it uses an electronic continuously variable transmission, sending power to four-wheel drive. However, we expect the same engine under the Honda Ridgeline Hybrid to produce at least 250 horsepower in total. The current non-hybrid Ridgeline comes with a gasoline 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 280 hp and 265 lb.-ft of torque.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Release Date, Price
At the moment of writing this post, there is no info when the hybrid variant will debut. Based on some rumors, we can expect the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid to be introduced later in the year, while sales might begin at the beginning of 2023.
The current Honda Ridgeline Sport, with standard AWD, starts at less than $37,000, while the most expensive Black Edition is around $44,000. So, expect the Hybrid one to cost at least $41,000.
