The new 2023 Mitsubishi L200 will reportedly hit stores sometime next year, featuring a mid-cycle facelift. So far, this truck was one of the most attractive on the market, and we expect it to become even more so. According to recent sources, the upcoming model will receive just enough upgrades to keep up with other models in the class.
First of all, buyers can expect modest cosmetic enhancements, as well as some changes under the hood. From many speculations, the new truck might finally get a long-waited hybrid powertrain. Mitsubishi’s new model will be reportedly unveiled at the beginning of the year 2022, while sales might start soon after.

2023 Mitsubishi L200 Interior
The cabin of the 2023 Mitsubishi L200 will be renovated as well. So, we presume that Mitsubishi will make the cabin more pleasant, especially on upper trims like Barbarian.
Generally speaking, we expect the upcoming truck to borrow many design cues from the Outlander model. That means you should count on the new infotainment system and features like keyless entry/start, heated side mirrors, leather seating surfaces, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Exterior Changes
The 2023 Mitsubishi L200 will receive mild cosmetic upgrades only. So, forget about the complete exterior redesign, as many of us expected. From what we know, the 2023MY will gain a more modern and stylish appearance, compared to its predecessor. However, the same size and shape of this truck will remain.
This truck measures length of 205.1 inches and a height of 70.1 inches. The manufacturer will also make this model more compact, and it will probably make some changes on the front end. In general, we expect to see refreshed grille and the same headlights as on the Outlander SUV. At the back, the typical design will remain with some minor upgrades here and there.

2023 Mitsubishi L200 Engine Specs
At this point, there is no official information about the powertrain of the 2023 Mitsubishi L200. Interestingly, there are too many speculations, and the most recent one is that the next-generation Mitsubishi L200 will come with a new hybrid system. So far, this model was powered by a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine, producing 145 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. In Asia, the L200 is available with different type of engine using 2.4-liter diesel engine that produces 180 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
However, both models are available with either a basic 2WD or an optional 4WD. As for the hybrid arrangement, we expect Mitsubishi L200 to use the same configuration as the Outlander PHEV SUV. The plug-in hybrid setup of the Outlander uses a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, plus two electric motors sucking energy from the lithium-ion battery pack. Total system output is 221 horsepower, and it uses an all four wheels setup.

The 2023 Mitsubishi L200 is the upcoming truck that will appear next year with some redesign. Reportedly, the new-generation model will be powered by a new hybrid powertrain. We also expect the brand-new Barbarian trim level, which is Mitsubishi’s new range-topping trim, offering more aggressive look than the other ones.
