2023 Nissan Frontier Review, Redesign, Release Date, Price

According to the news, Nissan will postpone the debut of the Frontier truck for the following year. It seems that the new pickup will be called, 2023 Nissan Frontier, and that 2022 model will be skipped. After waiting almost a decade and a half, Nissan reveals the third-generation Frontier with plenty of upgrades.

The overall design is more modern, but the new pickup still rides on a old frame that dates back to the early 2000s. However, besides some visual exterior facelifts, the manufacturer has also revised the suspension. On top of that, Frontier inherits the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6 that generates 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Nissan Frontier Redesign

Depending on form and trim level, the exterior appearance of the upcoming 2023 Nissan Frontier pickup truck will vary. For example, the King Cab is the smallest, and it features tiny rear doors that opens on the opposite side, providing access to a rear seating area. The Crew Cab is a much better option, and it comes with regular doors, offering roomier rear accommodations.

Besides, the S trim is an entry-level, and it adopts 16-inch steel wheels and side mirror housings in black. However, upper trim SV adds chrome rear bumper and 16-inch alloy wheels. The most favorite is the Pro-4X. This truck variant has Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, skid plates, satin chrome grille, and Pro-4X badges.

Significant Improvements Inside

The new 2023 Nissan Frontier’s interior will be more modern than the current one. It should feature significant improvement over the plastic-laden cabin that plagued the current pickup. Speaking of seats, the Frontier will offer excellent comfort thanks to the new Nissan’s supple Zero Gravity thrones. This truck provides enough room for five passengers.

In terms of techs, the manufacturer added two screen options. The base model comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while a 9.0-inch display is available on upper trims. Package of standard equipment includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and upgraded nine-speaker system.

2023 Nissan Frontier Powertrain Specs

The 2023 Nissan Frontier will use the same proved engine as the current one. It inherits the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6, providing great performance. This engine generates 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. It also uses a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear or four-wheel drive.

Moreover, the powertrain under the Frontier Pro-4X didn’t provide any performance improvement over the last year. As for the towing capacity, the Frontier tops out the same 6720 pounds. Generally speaking, it still falls short of rivals such as the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Jeep Gladiator.
