The new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX is arriving, and the most exciting news is that it will introduce many novelties. First of all, we expect to see more handsome styling and the new Ignition, Longhorn Southfork, and Red editions.
According to Ram, all models are enhanced versions of the beastly TRX. In general, all of them will receive some aesthetic upgrades and more accessories included in the package. Also, the new engines are rumored, and the upcoming TRX might introduce V6 or V8 gasoline powertrain paired with a 48-volt hybrid system.
2023 Ram 1500 TRX New Editions
The new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX is an attractive pickup truck based on the famous Ram 1500. However, the TRX variant looks more beautiful than the regular model, and it features much more off-road equipment.
For 2023, the manufacturer will make this truck more competitive with a revised front grille and headlights. However, the most exciting news is the upcoming Ignition edition that will provide more unique graphics and a new 18-inch machine face black wheels. The second new addition is the Longhorn Southfork, which will replace the 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary variant. This model features a new multi-function tailgate, a deployable bed step, a metal pedal kit, and Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires. In our opinion, the RED edition is the most handsome truck, thanks to many black and red accents.
Cabin Equipment
Inside the cabin, the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX will get many upgrades. For example, choosing the Ignition Edition, you’ll get a new panoramic sunroof, copper carbon-fiber accents, an orange badge on the center console, Copperhead Orange TRX logo stitching, and a new head-up display.
However, if you go for the Longhorn SouthFork, this truck comes exclusively with a Mountain Brown colorway, and it features bucket seats and suede door bolsters with leather inserts. The last RED edition has badging on the center console lid and black leather seats with red stitching.
2023 Ram 1500 TRX Powertrain
There are many speculations about the new engines. Moreover, suppose that rumors are accurate, the upcoming 2023 Ram 1500 TRX truck might get either a V6 or V8 gasoline powertrain. Both units should be more potent, and both will use as standard eight-speed automatic transmissions. Interestingly, as far as we know, those engines will be available with a new 48-volt hybrid system. Thanks to that, we can expect a much more improved fuel economy.
The current Ram 1500 is powered by a 3.6 liter naturally aspirated V6 engine capable of producing 305 hp at 269 lb-ft of torque. As optional, the manufacturer also offers a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 395 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The most potent engine is a 6.2-liter V8 with 702 horsepower, which is under the RAM TRX model.
2023 Ram 1500 TRX Release Date and Price
The new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX will likely appear on the market next year, featuring some minor upgrades. We can expect this truck to come with more off-road features to keep up with the Ford Raptors model. However, one thing is for sure, the new Ram 1500 TRX will definitively cost more.
Anyway, the price should be in the range of $60,000, which is 27k more than the regular Ram 1500 model. For a comparison only, the Ford Raptor is the main rival of this truck, and it has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $45,000. However, a fully loaded Raptor can excess price of $80,000.
