2023 Rivian R1T Postponed for the Next Year

The all-electric 2023 Rivian R1T will be reportedly postponed for the following year. If you didn’t know, this long awaited truck offers impressive off-road capability, punchy acceleration, and cleverly designed exterior and interior.

The futuristic R1T model is made by a startup brand Rivian, and it comes with a powerful electric motors that delivers 400 miles of driving range. This truck is 215.6 inches long, and it sits just between mid-size pickups such as the Ford Ranger and the full-size truck, the Ram 1500. As far as we have known, the main rival to the Rivian R1T is the upcoming Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck, and the newest GMC Hummer EV SUT.

The new 2023 Rivian R1T truck looks futuristic and is more eye-catchy than its rival Tesla Cybertruck. It comes with a unique grille, and it has light signatures on the front and rear. Actually, we like every single detail on this truck. According to Rivian, the new R1T model will offer a vast number of modifications. As far as we know, this model will come with three wheels size options. You can get a 20-inch All-Terrain package for superior off-roading, a 21-inch set for the best electric range, and a 22-inch wheel that enhances on-road handling.

The Gear Tunnel is the highlight of this truck, and it can hold around 400 pounds when lowered. Another clever feature is Gear Guard. This one includes a pair of 8-foot cut-resistant tethers and a 360-video camera to dissuade any would-be thieves.

First Look Inside the Cabin

Inside, the 2023 Rivian R1T comes with a modern and roomy cabin. This truck has a large trunk under the front hood and ample storage behind the cab. According to the manufacturer, there are 12 cubic feet of lockable storage. Overall, you can count on high comfort and very supportive seats.

On the technology side, this model comes with 16.0-inch infotainment, navigation, media, climate controls, etc. Anyway, this is the first truck that didn’t include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. However, it offers a great safety package, including standard automated emergency braking,  lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

As mentioned, the new 2023 Tivian R1T is the upcoming all-electric truck that offers an all-wheel drive as standard. On top of that, each wheel is powered by an electric motor, and they combined to produce 800 horsepower. Rivian company claims that R1T with this powerful engine will run from zero-to-60-mph in just 3.0 seconds.

It also can tow more than 11,000 pounds with a payload capacity of 1760 pounds. When the R1T hits the market, it should be offered with a 135-kWh battery pack, capable of delivering a driving range of 300 miles. We also expect a larger 18o-kWh pack capable of providing around 400 miles per charge.

When Can We Expect the New 2023 Rivian R1T?

The first Rivian electric pickup truck achieved excellent results at benchmark for capability, driving range, and performance. However, according to many reports, the new model will be postponed for the next year and introduced as the 2023 variant. Right now, we heard that there would be three trim levels.

The Explorer starts at $68,000, Adventure costs $74,000, while the last Launch Edition is $74,500. The Launch Edition will be only to feature a battery pack with a 400-mile driving range.
