The new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV has been revealed and is slotted to go on sale in 2023. Chevrolet claims that the all-electric version shares no parts with the regular Silverado, and it rides on a completely new platform.
As you probably know, the electric-pickup party started last year, and the Chevrolet Silverado EV may be late a bit. Rivian, Ford, GMC, and Tesla electric trucks are announced, and all should arrive later this year. To match them, Chevrolet made a Silverado EV with 400 miles of range, 664 horsepower, and up to 10,000 pounds of towing.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Design
The new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV has a very attractive styling. As we mentioned, this truck is being marketed as an all-electric built on the same platform as the off-road-oriented GMC Hummer EV. Compared to any other Silverado model, the EV looks more unique and is radically different. It features a very attractive hood and closed-off grille.
As far as we know, this truck will only be available with a 4-door/5-passenger configuration and with a 5.9-foot bed, which is still longer than that of the Lightning. The Silverado EV revives some features from the popular Avalanche model like a midgate that allows the rear section to lower, creating more cargo room.
Modern Interior
Inside, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV looks modern and luxurious. We have our first look at the RST model that reveals a racy-looking interior with a blue color scheme. Unlike the other models, the RST comes exclusively with GM’s Super Cruise driver-assist technology.
It also features specially made seats, providing more comfort on a longer ride. Stepping into, you’ll first notice a massive 17.0-inch center screen and 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster with flashy graphics. However, choosing the WT, you’ll get an 11.0-inch center display and an eight-inch screen in the gauge cluster.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Motor Specs
The Silverado EV will come with two electric motors. As the Hummer EV truck, the new Silverado will come with the same 200.0-kWh battery pack, providing 400 miles of estimated range. Also, like the mentioned model, the Silverado EV has an electrical architecture capable of charging at 800 volts and 350 kW. Thanks to that, we can expect around 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes, according to Chevrolet.
It’s worth mentioning that the Hummer EV comes with three electric motors, providing 250 miles on lower trims. The RST model features a drive mode called “Wide Open Watts”, which can accelerate from zero-to-60-mph in just 4.5 seconds. That means the Chevrolet EV is quicker than Ford’s most powerful F-150 Lightning.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Price, Release Date
As far as we know, the all-electric 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV cost $40,000 for the base WT. If you go for the fully loaded RST model, the price will jump to $107,000. Unfortunately, the Silverado EV is an all-electric pickup slated to go on sale in 2023. When it goes on sale, the new truck will rival models such as the Rivian R1T, Tesla Cybertruck, and the Ford F-150 Lightning.
