The forthcoming 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 has been spotted undergoing testing in Michigan, without camouflage. As we can see, the new truck will receive some mild changes compared to its predecessor. However, the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 isn’t as aggressive as the Ford Raptor or RAM TRX at all, but it is still the most recognized truck thanks to its robust styling.
Overall, the design also looks aggressive, and we can expect the new truck to be powered by the same engines as the regular model. This means it will use a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Design
The exterior of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 is updated, judging by the latest spy shots. The off-road-focused truck features a reshaped bumper and unique corner fog lights. We also noticed the new front and rear skid plates that look hefty enough for almost any rock-crawling task.
The rear of this truck is also reshaped with a two-tone tailgate with a six-position multi-Flex tailgate. Overall, if you’re looking for something more unique, the manufacturer also offers a Bison model that adds more off-road equipment.
Inside, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 offers a slick-looking dashboard and more quality materials than the non-ZR2 model. It also features a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen. The cabin is roomy, with leather-trimmed seats and sporty dark trim. It is worth noting that the ZR2 is only available in a crew-cab body style, offering great comfort even in the back. Along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the ZR2 version also includes Amazon Alexa and features built-in Google voice assistance, maps, and an app store.
So far, the safety is the best so far, and every Silverado comes with forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will be powered by the same engine as the regular Silverado. It will use a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
It is also worth mentioning that every ZR2 features a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case and electronic-locking front and rear differentials. As for towing, this truck with a conventional trailer hitch can tow up to 8900 pounds. Also, the half-ton pickup can handle a payload of up to 1440 pounds, which is great compared to other rivals.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Price, Release Date
As before, the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 can be chosen as a regular or Bison Edition. The standard model starts at $70,000, which is $10,000 higher than the non-ZR2 Silverado. However, by choosing the Bison Edition, the price will increase to $75,000.
As you can see, the Bison variant is a lot cheaper than the Ram TRX’s base price of almost $80,000. Anyway, the sharply focused off-road package Bison is full of new accessories and, because of that, is the most popular truck. Both mentioned models will arrive next year, probably in the fall.
