Some of the photographers captured the upcoming 2024 Ford Ranger prototype heavily camouflaged on the public roads. The next-generation midsize pickup truck looks more attractive than ever, and it is featuring a longer bed in SuperCrew configuration.
As a model before, the new truck will continue to be propelled by a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, which delivers strong towing and great payload figures. This engine labors one of the best 10-speed automatic transmissions in the market. From the latest information, the fifth generation will be available at U.S. dealerships in the fall or at the end of next year. However, if you’re looking for something more unique, Blue Oval company also offers the FX4 and Tremor packages.
2024 Ford Ranger Redesign
Depending on chosen cab and package, the 2024 Ford Ranger design will vary. The SuperCab offers two main side doors, and it comes with a 6-foot bed, while SuperCrew has a 5-foot bed. However, no matter which cab you choose, both are 210.8 inches in length.
The bare-bones model comes with steel bumpers finished in black, and with regular steel wheels. The Tremor package is the better option, which adds skid plates, as well as hoop steps, tow hooks, and black grille mesh.
If you’re looking for a spacious truck, the best option is a 5-seater SuperCrew version of the Ranger. The SuperCab’s two rear model offers precious more legroom than the other ones. We recommended also jumping at least to the XLT and Lariat models, on which both offer upgraded setup with an 8-inch touchscreen.
The Infotainment of the Ranger supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio, and an extra USB port. You’ll also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, trailer tow monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high beams.
2024 Ford Ranger Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2024 Ford Ranger will come likely with the same engine as the model before. This means we can expect a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission comes as standard, and it sends drive to the rear wheels (RWD), or all four if the optional 4-wheel drive (4WD) system is installed. According to some rumors, this engine could produce more horses under the new one thanks to some mapping.
