The next-generation of the GMC Canyon is just around the corner, and we can expect many upgrades and changes. According to the news, alongside the regular version, the manufacturer will also introduce a completely new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X model. A few days ago, the manufacturer showed a Canyon AT4X with the Edition 1 package, featuring beefy bodywork and a tough-looking front bumper with a bull bar.
For those who may not know, this off-road-focused trim level features serious capability and uncompromising refinements. This trim also includes an upgraded suspension to better handle rugged terrain, and it adds more aggressive off-road tires. Like the Chevy Colorado, the new GMC AT4X Canyon will be available with the same turbo 2.7-liter inline-four engine.

2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Design
The teaser image of the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 package shows only the front end of this truck. The most off-road-ready variant looks chunky with a front bumper that has a large bull bar rising up in front of the grille.
The headlights appear to be new as well, and they are split into two pieces, with the LED daytime running lights positioned lower. The grille gives this truck a dominating look because it is blacked out. The 2023 Canyon AT4X also rides on an upgraded suspension and capable all-terrain tires.
Interior Rumors
Unfortunately, the teaser image doesn’t show what changes will bring the new truck inside. However, we expect the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X to offer a more comfortable cabin, keeping the same seating layout. This means that there should be enough room for up to five passengers. As far as we know, this mid-size truck will be only available in a crew cab configuration with a single bed length.
The Denali trim will be once again one of the most premium trim, featuring leather seats, Bose 7-speaker premium audio, and ventilated front seats. Anyway, the AT4X trim not only makes the Canyon a competent off-roader but also makes it very stylish inside. This trim adds some badges, and more comfortable seats as well.

2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Engine Specs
Under the hood, the new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X will be available with just one engine choice. As far as we know, the manufacturer will introduce a new turbo 2.7-liter four-cylinder, which should be available in three different power levels, depending on the trim selected.
Unfortunately, GMC didn’t reveal anything more regarding engine specs. It is worth noting that this engine is also available with the Colorado trucks, so it makes perfect sense for the next-gen truck to continue that trend. However, we expect the new Canyon to produce 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 430 pound-feet (583 Newton-meters).

2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Release Date, Price
The new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X was tested a few days ago, featuring a completely new design language. As far as we know, the forthcoming truck will be fully unveiled this month.
So, reservations for the AT4X Edition 1 package will be open after its unveiling. Anyway, GMC didn’t say anything about how much the new truck will cost or how many trims will be available.
