2024 Mitsubishi L200/Triton Will Share Many Design Cues with the Outlander SUV

The spy shots of the redesigned 2024 Mitsubishi L200/Triton are available, and they show the truck’s production body. Interestingly, it seems that the new pickup will adopt many design cues from the Outlander SUV. Basically, it features the same massive grille that is flanked by daytime running lights and a new set of headlights that reside further below.

Unfortunately, Mitsubishi hasn’t said much about what changes will be made to the new model inside, but many of us are expecting to see significant upgrades over the outgoing generation. Anyway, reports also indicate that the new pickup will use a plug-in hybrid system, the same we saw under the Outlander PHEV model.

2024 Mitsubishi L200 Changes

Thanks to a new spy shot, we now have a much clearer look at what changes will be made. Nevertheless, heavy camouflage covers most of L200’s body parts. First and foremost, we noticed a new front fascia that adopts Outlander’s front-end design language. It features an identical massive grille, flanked by daytime running lights.

Also, the headlights are new, and they are very tiny compared to the ones we saw on the latest Outlander. Overall, the design is much more attractive than before, and we cannot wait to see what the final product will look like.

More Comfort Inside

Like the exterior of the 2024 Mitsubishi L200, the heavy camouflage hides what is changed inside the new truck. However, many reports indicate that a completely new interior is on the way. From what we know, the seating layout will be unchanged, and the L200 should provide room for up to five passengers.

However, we’re expecting to see some changes and upgrades in terms of technology. The new infotainment system is a must, as well as standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. Also, the safety tech will be updated as well, including active brake assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and parking sensors with active parking assist.

2024 Mitsubishi L200 Engine Specs

As we said, many reports indicate that a plug-in hybrid will power the new 2024 Mitsubishi L200 truck. In general, we’re expecting to see the same system as in the Outlander PHEV model. This means it could use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, drawing power from two electric motors. Combined, they are able to deliver a total output of 221 horsepower.

The system is taking energy from a lithium-ion battery pack, and it should provide at least 24 miles solely on battery power. As for charging, the current Outland can be charged in 40 minutes with a DC fast-charging station.

2024 Mitsubishi L200 Release Date, Price

The new 2024 Mitsubishi L200, aka Triton, will reportedly hit the market sometime next year, probably in the fall. As we said, the forthcoming pickup has been recently caught testing on a public road wrapped in camo. The fun fact is that the L200 comes with an identical front fascia as the latest Outlander SUV.

So, expect it to share the same platform as the mentioned model as well as the PHEV system. Unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t have any official word about it, but some truck experts mentioned a price of around $32,000.
