RAM stated recently that it wants to enter the midsize pickup segment, which indicates the reborn of the famous Dodge Dakota model. The new 2024 RAM Dakota from available information will use the same body-on-frame platform as the Jeep Gladiator truck. We also expect both models to share many aesthetics inside, offering a very comfortable cabin.
Drivetrain will also be shared, and the RAM Dakota will probably be powered by a potent Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. The power output of this engine should be around 285 hp and 260 lb-ft. The inheritance doesn’t stop here because we expect a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine to be offered optional as well. This one should produce at least 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.

2024 RAM Dakota Design
The resurrected 2024 RAM Dakota will look modern to keep up with rivals such as the Ford Ranger as well as the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Toyota Tacoma. Some of the renderings of the forthcoming truck are available, and it looks very attractive. As we mentioned, the new truck will reportedly use the same components with its larger sibling, the Jeep Gladiator.
While we’re awaiting further details on the Ram Dakota, many believe that this truck will shake the mid-size segment with a new design language, which should include a new grille, headlights, and sharper lines.
Interior Rumors
We suspect the 2024 RAM Dakota to come with a similar interior styling we saw in the 2023 RAM 1500. Probably it won’t be modern as the RAM 1500, but it should provide a plethora of standard and optional amenities. This will likely include a heated and ventilated front seat, leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and more.
The current Ram 1500 is available with a huge vertically oriented 12.0-inch touchscreen, but we’re confident that the RAM Dakota will at least be available with an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other features that should come with the basic truck should include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

2024 RAM Dakota Engine Options
Considering the 2024 Ram Dakota is about to share the same platform with Jeep Gladiator, we also expect it to share the drivetrain as well. So, the latest RAM Dakota will probably come with a proven Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. In case you didn’t know, this engine can also be found under the Wrangler SUV as well.
It produces around 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of. Another possibility is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine, which should be way more economical.
