The upcoming 2022 Nissan Frontier pickup truck has been finally teased alongside the Pathfinder SUV. According to the latest media reports, both models will be revealed in the coming weeks. While the teaser photo doesn’t reveal many details, the new spy photos of the upcoming pickup truck show some interesting upgrades. So far, Nissan keeps the Frontier development under heavy camouflage, but we managed to see some refreshments below.
The new front end has plenty of styling similarities with the recently refreshed Nissan Titan XD pickup. Basically, we can see the same bracket-shaped running lights, headlights, and a blocky grille.

2022 Nissan Frontier Spy Photos Analysis
After teasing the new 2022 Nissan Frontier, the forthcoming model has been spied testing on a few different locations. At first glance, Nissan Frontier is wearing heavy camouflage, and it has plenty of styling similarities with the recently refreshed Nissan Titan XD pickup. First of all, dimensionally is the same, and it features identical lines as its predecessor. Generally, this mid-size pickup truck sits between the Titan and Navara models.
Pairing spy images and teased one, we managed to see some refreshments. The upcoming Nissan Frontier wears more attractive styling than before, featuring a boxy face, rectangular headlights, and a blocky grille. The spy photos also reveal more tiny fog lights in a rectangular shape and the same back as the predecessor. However, we can also expect reshaped LED taillights, better graphics, and a broader bumper.

Interior Overhaul
Spy shots of the 2022 Nissan Frontier’s also reveal a completely new modern cabin. However, like before, this mid-size truck will come with the same layout. On the image above, we can see the spied prototype cabin that shows a new infotainment system. The four-wheel-drive system controller is on the new center stack, and it includes 2WD, 4WD Hi, and 4WD Low settings.
The entry model will probably pack a new touchscreen, auto-dimming mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and shift knob and does not include navigation. Moreover, the PRO-4X version is the best option featuring NissanConnect, navigation, and parking camera.
Powertrain Remains the Same
In the engine section, we don’t expect any changes at all. The new 2022 Nissan Frontier will most likely use the same 3.8-liter V6 powertrain that is capable of generating 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. This engine will probably be once again available with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, we are still waiting for official confirmation and the first fuel rating numbers.
This configuration under the current model delivers an EPA city/highway fuel economy of 18/24 mpg for the (rear-wheel drive) and 17/23 mpg (4-wheel drive). If you didn’t know, this engine is introduced for the first time last year.

2022 Nissan Frontier Release Date and Cost
As we mentioned, the new 2022 Nissan Frontier is teased yesterday alongside the upcoming Pathfinder SUV. Both models don’t reveal much, but the new spy photos reveals some refreshments.
From the latest information, both models will be fully shown in the coming weeks. Pricing is not yet published to the public, but it will be probably revealed soon.
